USTA Junior Team Tennis begins

By Ms. Edwards-Onoro | October 8, 2007

Interested in playing tennis after the season ends? Consider USTA Junior Team Tennis, which begins this month at local tennis clubs.

USTA Junior Team Tennis has three age divisions, 18 and under, 14 and under, and 12 and under; each age division has two ability levels, intermediate and advanced. Teams are co-ed; players must be USTA members to participate. A player doesn’t have to belong to any tennis club to play USTA Team Tennis.

Matches are played on the weekends, October through March. Teams travel to local clubs, playing both singles and doubles matches. Most players play one singles and one doubles match. Cost for participants is around $15/match which includes pizza and drink.
