Winning streak ends with loss to Canton Chiefs
By Ms. Edwards-Onoro | September 26, 2008
The Wildcats ended their four-match winning streak, losing their final home match of the 2008-09 season against the Canton Chiefs 3-6 on Wednesday, September 24 (match photos). Coach Kimball commented, “The score doesn’t reflect how hard you all worked; three matches went to three sets each, with two tie-breakers.”
The junior varsity team had better luck against the Chiefs, pulling a 4-4 tie, a marked improvement from their previous loss to the Chiefs junior varsity earlier in the season.
Graduating seniors on the team were honored with individual posters with their name and photo hung at the courts, creatively designed by Mrs. Korpalski, Max’s mom.
